NOT JUST “SCHOOL” MATH

You would have to be living under a rock not to know that many people don’t like math and/or aren’t very good at it. While there are so many factors feeding into that (a soap box for another part of the site, not here), performance in math for much of the English speaking world has been steadily declining since the 1960s.

As a teacher, that fact both saddens and worries me for many reasons. It’s not just about the mathematical knowledge itself being lost, but the corresponding skills disappearing as well. I personally believe that the greatest method of breaking generational cycles of poverty is through education, particularly financial literacy. And the foundation of financial literacy…is math.

LEARN: All things math, finance, and the connection between the two. From stocks to crypto to finding x, the filter is doing heavy work here.
EARN: Apply some of what is in the learn tab toward making actual money moves. Explore fun ways of earning a few extra bucks or use the same methods I do for making what I do have stretch for more.

The only direct service offered from this section is math tutoring, available through the HIRE ME page. However, many of the sites and apps on the EARN have referral programs. I am also always open to emails or other ways of reaching out to discuss the topics on the website.
